Here is the wiring to the front of the car.







The head light harness plugs in under the dash and wraps around the left side of the engine compartment. It is Ford part number C8ZZ-14290-H.

Things you should know:

The harness has two fog light plugs molded into it. These are blue plugs visible at the lower corners of the radiator opening.

This harness is used for cars with tachometers.

This harness has a plug for hood mounted turn signals that is not used on Shelbys.









The fog lights used a short cut off extension.

Things you should know:

This harness was used on early Marchal lights. It was scotched locked to the fog light leads.







The headlight harness has two extensions for the headlight bulbs. They are Ford part number C7ZZ-13076-A.

Things you should know:

The plugs on 1968 harnesses are brown to match the headlight harness plugs.







The alternator wiring harness is Ford part number C7ZZ-14305-E for the small block and C7ZZ-14305-J for the big block.

Things you should know:

The big block and small block harness both use a plastic "dogbone" to orientate the wires. Plastic caps cover the wiring connections.







The intake wiring harness is Ford part number C6Dz-14289-B for the small block and C7ZZ-14289-A for the big block.

Things you should know:

The big block and small block harness are different. AO Smith (Shelby) modified this harness to install the oil pressure gauge in the console. I believe the difference in the two harnesses was the length of the oil pressure wire.

This harness has a red firewall plug that plugs into a black connector in the main harness.







The convertible top harness runs out to the juction block under the hood. It is Ford part number C8ZZ-15A669-A.
