Spaniol Ford was owned by PD Spaniol. His brother, Larry Spaniol, also participated in the dealership. The original location was in downtown Casper and began in 1957. PD assumed ownership in 1962.
Spaniol was Wyoming's only Shelby dealership.

The brand new 3333 Cy Avenue location opened in 1966.

The dealership did not begin selling Shelbys until the end of the 1967 model year. They only sold two, new 1967 Shelbys. Dave tells me this car is certainly a 1967 and it's # 2579.

I am not sure if I would be encouraged to meet the "slasher" :-) Just kidding, I am sure Jim was a very nice guy. He sold some of the high performance cars.

This is awesome picture of the 1966 Ford GT on tour at Spaniol Ford. Picture from Casper Star Tribune

By 1968, Spaniol had sold 16 Shelbys. The first of the new models was car # 91. It made it to the dealership in December 1967.

The Mustang Sprint was a low cost alternative for the economy minded buyer. It was half the price of a new Shelby!

I found a gold Shelby listed in one of the advertisements, but it says "used". Car # 383 was one of four, GT500s sold new by the dealership.

This advertisement is from the Casper, Wyoming newspaper.

I won't divulge the serial number of this car. After it left dealership, the owner decided to do a roll bar "safety" test.

The High Country was a distant relative of the Shelby, featuring the same tailights and side scoops - on a coupe!

Car 1541 started off a different color, but its still in great shape.

There are at least three 1968 Shelbys in this advertisement.

Vinny found this invoice for a whopping $2.10. If your looking for original documents, Vinny is a good resource to touch bases with.

This newspaper features "clip art". the drawings were sent to all dealers just for advertising purposes.

One way to generate some showroom traffic is to give away a new car!

One of the cars Spaniol sold was a special paint car. I have identified it as 3261. I believe it was an original orange car, but it has not resurfaced yet. Here is a list of the special paint cars that were not painted yellow.

Advertisements like this put a face to the name. These are the men that sold the cars.

The dealership sold a dozen 1969 and 1970 Shelby automobiles.

This is an interesting advertisement. The dealership must have known Ford was coming...

The dealership would be repossessed by Ford in August of 1970. Spaniol had failed to repay a large loan from Ford. He later sued Ford Motor and won a judgement. However, the dealershipship was lost.

Although it was sold in 2016, the dealership still operates in the original location as Greiner Ford.
