Luke Bolton Ford was in Plantation, Florida. Plantation is just north of Miami. The dealership was opened in 1969 and owned by Luke Bolton.
Bolton previously owned JD Ball Ford in Miami. He had a brother, Johnny Bolton, that also sold Shelbys in Florida.
The new dealership was announced in May of 1968. By October it was already open. It appears the 1968 Shelbys sold by the dealership
were already "used" cars.
This car was one of the cars that received warranty service from Bolton. Car 2012 was sold new at Jack Loftus in Illinois.
The rocker panels stripes were originally blue.
This January of 1969 ad appeared in the Fort Lauderdale News. The showroom was packed with new Fords.
Luke Bolton excelled at selling convertibles to Florida residents. This car is 1228, a Bolton alumni.
A $3,100 Mach 1 sounds like a great deal. There is also a slightly used GT500 KR, 4spd, AC for $3744.
Car # 1491 was at Legendary Motors when this photo was taken. The white interiors were very popular.
Bolton sold 42 cars that were 1969s and 1970 models.
This advertisement was five months after the dealership got its first cars.
This car appeared in a youtube "barn find" video. The Bolton car is # 2358. It is a 1970 model.
"Fire and Refinement" was a sales campaign directly from Shelby Automotive.
I think it's notable how often Bolton used the convertibles in their print advertisements.
Car # 2387 was a 1970 model. Several 1970s received "factory" air conditioning after they left the factory.
This was an attempt to make them more attractive to buyers.
The end of August 1969 marks the end of 1969 Shelby production and look what happens to the ads...
There are some new models and they are not Shelbys.
If Bolton had sold Shelbys earlier, they almost certainly would have been a top ten Shelby dealership.
I truely believe the 1969/70 GT350 might be the one of the best Shelbys built. Bill sent me a picture of 2642 and it is immaculate.
The car was transfered to Mathews Ford before being sold new.
This April 1970 advertisement features two 1970 Shelby convertibles that are described as used "rentals".
3294 is very close to the last Shelby being built. There was only one car after it.
By August of 1970, the 1971 Mustangs were already being built. It was probably discount time, even for a dealer that sold a lot of 1970 models.
Robert Cash bought his 1970 GT500 convertible from Luke Bolton. It was car number 2669.
This photograph appeared in the Fort Lauderdale News Feb 4th, 1970. The plate says "R.O.C."
Luke Bolton Ford lasted until 1992. The dealership became Plantation Ford and they still sell great cars today.
