Johnny Bolton Ford was located at 1875 South Orlando Avenue in Maitland, Florida. The new dealership opened in August of 1965. Maitland, Florida is near Orlando.

Johnny Bolton was the owner of the dealership. Bolton was a veteran of World War 2 and flew on a B-17 bomber. He had a passion for aircraft and owned several planes.

Here's Johnny....with the golden shovel, breaking ground for the new dealership.

How about a British Racing green 427 car? This car is believed to be CSX3151.

CSX 3195 was one of the Cobras sold by the dealership.
The car was originally black. This picture is from the Internet.

Here are some newspaper ads for some of the Cobras the dealership sold. This one is from the Orlando Sentinel November 1965.
This car is CSX 3219 and was at the dealership for quite some time.

A couple of interesting items here...CSX 3216 actually sported a 428 engine.
If you thought 1970 Shelbys were the only "updated" cars to receive new serial plates, you are incorrect. It happened with Cobras as well.

5R103 was a 1965 Competition model sponsored by Johnny Bolton Ford. The car was driven by Walt Hane.

Bolton sold 151 Shelbys between 1966 and 1970. This made the dealership 19th overall in sales. In 1965, Bolton sold just one GT350. That car was 5S409.

In 1966, Bolton increased the sales to 30 cars. The high performance manager was Sunny Hayes.

This 1966 Shelby is number 1759.

A check issued to Bolton in 1966.

The 1966 Shelby in this advertisement is identified as a 1966 NHRA record holder.
Sunny Hayes owned 6S344, so I am guessing this is his car.

...and when it came to sell the car it was only $4,700.

This beautiful white GT350 is 6S321.

The 1966 Shelby in this 1968 advertisement was already two years old. Bolton sold several green 1966 GT350s.

Someone had headrests on their 1966 and no doubt, removed them. They were there in June of 1966! Advertisement from the Orlando Evening Star

1967 saw the dealership sell another 30 cars. It looks like Sunny Hayes was out and Al Renn was the new High Performance Manager.

One of those cars was 67 #1344. It looks great in it's original Lime Green Metallic.

1968 saw the sales increase to 38 cars. This included ten GT350's and fifteen GT500s.

Car 595 is a red, GT350 sold new at Johnny Bolton Ford.

This is car 851, when it appeared at the Cleveland Auto Show.

Bolton sold this red, convertible. It is number 1394.

Thirteen GT500 KRs were sold. I was surprised to see only four convertibles.

A black, GT500 KR, 4 speed is a great car. This car is number 4128. You won't find a better ride.

1969 became the high year for Bolton salesmen. Together they sold 52 cars.

This red 1969 GT500 is number 480151. Personally, I like the white interiors.

This color is Grabber Green and it has to be the most unique color of 1969. This car 483238 started of as a 428 Super Cobra Jet, 3.91 Drag pack.

The 1970 models are very unique. It's more than a a couple of stripes and a spoiler. 483100 is this car's number.

I can't image too many other Ford dealers that also sold airplanes. Yes, it's the same Johnny Bolton !

Johnny Bolton owned his own P-51 Mustang and a P-38 Lightning. I found this picture of Bolton's plane online.
Unfortunately, Bolton died when the P-51 crashed in October 1975. Bolton was a member of the Confederate Air Force.

Bolton's business partner and long time friend, Don Reid would take over the dealership after his death.
Around 1980, the dealership changed its name to Don Reid Ford. It remained Don Ried Ford until 2017.
The dealership was sold and renamed Peacock Ford. It is still in the same location.

Here's a vintage Johnny Bolton script from the dealership. I haven't seen one on a Shelby yet.
